My installation the Bad Fortune Cookie will be debuting for the second time since its creation at Imaginarium at Gamut Gallery. This exhibition features the work of Kate Renee and Brett Early. The exhibition opens this November 3rd and continues through November 24th.
The Bad Fortune Cookie started as a work with 101 fortunes, it is now down to 89 fortunes. Want to read about my installation project? Read my original post here. The concept is that the Bad Fortune Cookie installation allows anyone to buy affordable artwork. Each cookie is $10 and everyone received a unique ‘bad’ fortune. These bad fortunes can be sassy, mean, a joke or something absurd, anything but your typical philosophical fortune.
The plan is to install the work in the front corner by the window on the left wall. Halloween evening was the night the gallery began to install the exhibition.
Here is a snapshot of the piece up at Altered Esthetics during the Food Fight show which took place last November 2011. It will look very similar to this work. Come see the Bad Fortune Cookie for yourself during the opening November 3rd 2012 7-10 PM.
